Services Offered at our Providence Chiropractic Office
Chiropractic Manipulation - Also known as a chiropractic adjustment, it serves to promote proper joint function and movement. This is done by manually applying a controlled force to specific joints, most commonly of the spine, that are hypomobile, or not moving properly. Mobility is restored, consequently relieving pain and muscle tightness, and allowing tissues to heal.
Physiotherapy - Physiotherapy serves to increase blood flow, facilitate healing and reduce inflammation. These therapies include electric stimulation, therapeutic ultrasound and heat/ice therapy.
Muscular Rehabilitation - Our first goal is always to decrease pain through treating the cause of disease or dysfunction. Our second goal is to make sure patients stay out of pain, or to decrease episodes of dysfunction. This is where muscular rehabilitation comes into play. In addition to proper joint mobility, proper muscular function is essential. Therefore most patients will learn several exercises and stretches to both do in the office and at home, as well as a plan to maintain musculoskeletal stability.
Soft Tissue Technique - We use a variety of soft tissue therapy techniques, to help get blood flowing, loosen up muscle tissue, and flush out chemicals that promote inflammation.
Functional Nutrition - Because proper nutrition and healthy lifestyle is such a large aspect of maintaining wellness, it is often incorporated into the treatment plan. Distinctive nutritional work is also available, and may include the utilization of nutritional supplementation.
Nutritional assessment may include:
Adrenal Stress Index Testing - The adrenal glands are the stress glands of the body. Other organs and glands, such as the liver and thyroid, depend on the adrenals for their own proper functioning. This is why overworking these glands can disrupt a variety of the bodys natural functioning abilities.
Using saliva samples to be taken at various times throughout ones day in their regular environment, this testing allows for a thorough assessment of adrenal function and immunity.
Female Hormone Testing - Hormonal imbalance can be the root cause of many symptoms experienced by women of all ages. Evaluation of hormone and endocrine function provides women with a glimpse into their own individual chemistry and is an effective tool in developing a customized treatment plan for various female health conditions.
GI Assessment - Disease can often be traced back to an unhealthy digestive tract. This is why a healthy gastrointestinal tract is imperative for overall optimum health. Pathogenic organisms can commonly infect the GI tract, causing a variety of gastrointestinal symptoms. With this testing, saliva and stool samples, via private home collection, are used to identify bacteria, parasites, yeast, fungus, etc as well as any immune deficiencies within the GI tract. Intestinal markers are also used to detect inflammation and irritation, giving an overall status of gut integrity. This assessment allows for proper and specific treatment of GI dysfunction.
Food Allergy Testing - Gastrointestinal upset can often result from an IgG immune reaction caused by a delayed food allergy, also referred to as food sensitivity. Delayed allergies, unlike the common allergies detected using skin testing, can take up to three days to provoke symptoms. So they are difficult to determine without proper testing. If it is determined that a patient will benefit from food allergy testing, we use a blood test called an ELISA test to identify food allergies/sensitivities. We will then work with the patient to develop a healthy digestion system through proper nutrition and supplementation if needed.
